Here is an overview of the AMP facility at the Modern Self Defense Center (180 Johnson St., Middletown, CT 06457). 

Our 7,000 sq. ft. facility is home to all sorts of fun and challenging obstacles.  We currently have: 6 ropes, a bajillion pull up bars (including two vertical bars), rings, parallel trainers, over 25 precision jump trainers (4”, 3”, 2”, and pipe), a multi-bar pvc precision jump system, as well as a multi-level precision jump system, a spring board, a 6” wide balance beam, a 30ft slack line, an overheard rope for climbing, 3 wood vaults (2.5 ft, 3 ft, and 4 ft), a picnic table, a rail vault, 4 cat leap boxes (8ft, 7ft, 6ft, and 4ft), lache bars, a "cliff hanger," a salmon ladder, an underbar, and many other fun things to play on.  For fun we also have a: unicycle, rip-stick, and balance board.  We also use many different mats, including two 12 ft wedge mats, two 5x12 crash mats, and several throw mats to keep everyone safe in this awesome endeavor.  We are constantly adding more to the facility, simply because we love what we do!

To get to MSDC, take route 9 to exit 16.  When you get to the light, take a SHARP right onto North Main St.  Follow N. Main St. to the end and take a right.  Cross the railroad tracks and turn right into the building complex.  Go around the left side of the building and look for the GIANT "ICONN" stained glass window.  That is the fencing school where we are located.  The Modern Self Defense Center is on the second floor.  Come on up and enjoy the fun!
